said to him ... In which authority are you doing these things

gives you the authority to do these things? |

And Jesus
said to them ... I will ask you one "question" ... |

and having answered me ... |

And (then) I
will tell you in which authority I do these (things). |

The baptism
of John, was it out of heaven ... |

of men? ... |

And they reasoned the word through before themselves ... |

they said ... If we say "out of heaven"

he shall be declaring ... Then through what did you not believe
him? |

But if we say ... "Out of men" ... |

They feared the crowd ... |

for all men believed that John really was a prophet. |

And having answered, they say to Jesus ... We don't know. |

and Jesus says to them ... Neither (do) I say to you
in which authority I do these things. |
