The Ambition of James and John

Verses Mk 10:35-45

This story occurs immediately after the Secret Gospel of Mark where Jesus has raised the unnamed Rich Youth from a Tomb, then after six days and a River immersion ceremony, taught him the Mystery of the Kingdom of God. In this scene, the disciples and Jesus have departed from Bethany across the Jordan and have crossed over to the other side. James and John take this opportunity to ask Jesus if they can join him in the Mystery.
